Brittany is a former independent Kingdom now incorporated into France, occupying a large Peninsular with the English Channel to the North and the Bay of Biscay to the South.
The Breton Language is of the Celtic "family", most closely related to the old Cornish language. Historically there have always been strong ties between Brittany and Cornwall and there was considerable intermarriage between Cornish and Breton families.
Famous for its food and drink, particularly cider, Brittany is also well known for its Breton sweaters and "Fisherman’s style" striped tops.
