Karen Jones Enamel Art
Karen Jones, self-taught “artist inventor,” has pioneered a new 3-D sculptured glass, slate and enamel technique. Her work is highly original and has hitherto not been replicated in the world! She has been featured on Welsh television many times and has an annual exhibition stand at the National Eisteddfod.
Her method is to sketch an image first, then to painstakingly reconstruct that image out of hand cut pieces of glass and graded slate pieces. She then smothers the whole in a thick viscous coat of specialist enamel paint - painting from her imagination - the choice of pallet depends on how she feels.
